Tanya,
We continue to hear reports that are overall quite positive. Historically the numbers show that when times are hard, people still purchase wine, beer and alcohol and specialty food items.
YES - There has been an increase in the number of people quiting clubs.
HOWEVER, we are also seeing a higher rate of people joining clubs. Over-all the clubs are holding in membership and many are growing.
What I see is s shift in the group of people joining the clubs. The new club member are from higher income groups who are shifting.
WORK FOR THE SALE: This is also an economy where you need to work for the sale. If you never offer the club then sales will fall.
The club benefits should be introduced on all sales. If this is done then it would be unusual for your membership not to increase.
Events & Benefits: Take the time to get to know your club members at events. Creating personal relationships with members will also increase retention.
I am happy to review your program if you call.
